Sometimes writers are not sure where to use Colon, so I would like to know which is best place to use the colon.

I suppose I had naively thought that lampooning the poster's sledgehammer approach to link-building would alert him to the error of his ways but it was met with the stony indifference of a robot and a continued stream of stupid questions from a supposed proofreader with no feel for English.
