Basically, in Britain they say "bonnet", whereas in the USA they say "hood". I can't think of anything else, really.

(In case you think I've turned into a mean-spirited curmudgeon, proofreadmyessay is a thinly-veiled forum spammer. I'm bored of toying with it now. Banned.)

Slightly disappointed, Charlie, as I liked your jibes at them.

I was also intrigued at why you gave the hood/bonnet example and not something else -- fanny pack v bumbag is one of my favourites.

Sorry, KayTee, but just as you know when you have to let a beloved pet "go", so you have to be strong with forum spammers. If it helps, I'm sure he's in spam heaven now. God is not a webmaster.

Even though I know you shouldn't encourage them:

Americans have a pathological fear of the letter "u".

Americans speak English as though they were still on The Mayflower - Shakespeare would be proud.

Americans use long words where a short one will do.

Bah humbug!
