Specifications 2 (part 1)

Literary specs

Along with technical or measurable specifications, the style sheet will also list specifications about the way certain items are presented. This could be to keep to a house style or to clarify a complicated subject, and it is something that can often be overlooked by typesetters and proofreaders as an incorrect placement might not be "wrong" in any grammatical or traditional sense. For example, we are as used to seeing "Mrs Smith" written as we are to seeing "Mrs. Smith". If "Mr./Mrs./Dr. ..." is specified, however, the former would be wrong.

Pagination specifications

There is normally a page that details the ordering of the prelims and end matter, and any other pagination issues. it's usually quite self-explanatory.

The word list

Part of the specifications is a word list. Some editors don't provide one, but
